For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. - Psalms 84:11

Andrea C. Freeman

April 1st, 2010

Andrea C. Freeman, 67, of Amarillo died Friday, March 26, 2010.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Shayne Raulston of My Father’s House officiating.

Andrea Carolyn Duke Freeman was born July 22, 1942, and went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 26, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Duke; her mother, Lecia Mae Gray; and her sister, Luella Jean Walker.

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, William Ross Freeman Sr.; her brother, Blanton Nash and his wife Glenda of Oklahoma City; and her aunt, Lavera Moore of Denver.

To the union of Andrea and William, five children were born, Felicia Pier and husband Columbus of Bryan, Stephanie Winters and husband Chet of Sacramento, Calif., Theola Woods of Mesquite and William R. Freeman Jr. and Myron Freeman, both of Amarillo. Included with her children, left to mourn are a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Though she was born in Watonga, Okla., she spent the vast majority of her life in Amarillo, where among many things she enjoyed gardening, watching televised sports and spending time with her family.

Her words and laughter will be sorely missed as will the wisdom that she always seemed to be able to convey to her family. Every moment of her life was filled with thoughts about what she could do to make her family better and happier. Near the end of her journey, she was laughing and telling stories about her life and reliving shared moments with her family members. Her resolve and strength were impenetrable as she faced the challenges of her illness. In her final moments, she knew that she was loved. Without question, she will be deeply missed by her family and others but there is celebration because she’s in a better place.
