For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. - Psalms 84:11

Agreeing with Rush Limbaugh—“The SAP” and the New Politics of Resentment
by L. Arthalia Cravin

I never thought that I would ever agree with Rush Limbaugh on anything, but we have found common ground on one thing—and that is calling a “retard” a “freakin’ retard” when the situation warrants.

If you have been following the news lately you know that Sarah Palin, who from now on I will refer to using combo-name initials “SAP.” I have added the title “The” because, according to a recent Dr. Phil Show, the use of the word “The” to refer to a person will gain popularity this year, as in how Donald Trump was called “The Donald.” The “the” was placed before his name because of his self-centered, egotistical arrogance. It fits Palin precisely. And so from now on I will refer to her by combo-name initials, along with the word “The.”

As you know, The SAP was bothered recently by Rahm Emanual’s use of the term, “retarded” to refer to disabled children. The SAP said it was politically incorrect or some such self-aggrandizing, stay in the public eye, purely politically, and self-promotional reason. Anyway, I think Rahm Emanual issued some kind of apology similar to Harry Reid after he used terms about “light-skinned Negroes.” Well, not too much later, Rush Limbaugh went on a tirade on his radio show and called Democrats a bunch of “freakin’ retards.” The press waited with bated breath to see if The SAP would call Limbaugh’s coattail for his use of the term “retard.” Well, The SAP knows who is buttering her current slice of old-stale bread, so she by-passed a chance to at least show one drop of intellectual honesty. But this is understandable coming from The SAP because one has to have some intellect to have intellectual honesty.

This past weekend, The SAP spoke at the Tea Party Convention in Tennessee and, even though it gagged me to do so, I listened to a few of her comments on National Public Radio. Let me say this about The SAP, she is a “freakin’ retard.” This idiot had the nerve to say things that only an intellectually, politically, economically-challenged retard would say. Of course she got rousing applause from her “idiot base” of supporters when she repeatedly invoked the name of The Great Communicator, Ronald Reagan, whom we all know was “out to lunch” mentally for most of his presidency. He was as shallow as The SAP, but knew how to use catch phrases to appeal to the worst “gust instincts of resentment” of his conservative base of support. The SAP is using Reagan’s old tactics in her new play book—which only a retarded person would do. When asked what she would do about the war on terror, she said something idiotic about doing everything to make sure that “We Win and They Lose.” Now are these the words of a complete freakin’ retard or what? America is the greatest debtor nation on earth. We owe everybody. China and Japan own America. America is in deep trouble economically not because we can’t find Osama you idiot. Now Miss SAP how do you plan to snatch a win out of that? Furthermore, Miss SAP, currently US students rank about 26 in the world in scholastics. Now again I ask you Miss SAP, you freakin retard, how do you snatch a win out of that? But of course you wouldn’t know because it took you ten years to graduate from an Alaskan junior college with an associate degree in physical education. Still you had the gall to lambaste President Obama as a “professor” and not a commander in chief.” Who wrote this stupid stuff for you? I know you didn’t because you can’t write a complete sentence.

I assume that hearing the Tea Party chant “Run Sarah Run” was supposed to signify The SAP’s “gallant return” to politics. Well Miss SAP, may I remind that you were there before and you helped McCain to “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.” Yea, your inglorious ignorance! And now you and your conservative cohorts are orchestrating your so-call return to the same ring where you were made to look like a complete sap, meaning, “dupe, fool” only a few months ago. Well, I agree with Rush Limbaugh, you are a freakin retard, being used by a sinister corporate media as basically an attention-getting, willing to say anything, attack dog. What you are not willing to admit is that George Bush 43 is now known as the most fiscally irresponsibly president in the history of America. But of course, Miss SAP wouldn’t quote that to anybody—too politically incorrect.

A few night ago, Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Labor, who also served on President Obama’s transition team, referred to the current political atmosphere as “the politics of resentment.” He remarked that at no other time in history has such hatred been shown toward an American president as that currently been hurled at President Obama. Well, I think Obama is doing about as well as Franklin D. Roosevelt at the same point in his presidency. When I served as a board member of an organization called “A New Deal for the New Deal,” to commemorate the 75 anniversary of Roosevelt’s New Deal Programs, starting in March of 2009, I remember hearing a fellow board member on the Colorado Historical Society say that, as a child, there were three words he was not allowed to say in his household, and those three words were “Franklin Delano Roosevelt.” The man was hated by the so-called corporate elites and called a communist and a socialist for proposing public programs to try to help the “one-third, ill-fed and ill-housed Americans.” To put it bluntly, FDR caught hell for even daring to use the government to help poor people. After all, his predecessor Herbert Hoover was content to do nothing and let the “capitalist, free-market system” correct the problems. The SAP used this same old, tired, worn out phrase about “free market systems” at the Tea Party Convention. Just like The SAP and her conservative base, Hoover held on to his “free market” theory of economic correction and what we got were “Hoovervilles” and shanty towns that sprung up across the country with millions begging for food and work. Remember the song, “Hey Buddy can you Spare a Dime?” Remember the soup lines? Remember grown men dressed in suits and hats, waiting in line for an apple? Remember the “Grapes of Wrath” where thousands headed to California to pick grapes and lettuce? We both know that The SAP is border-line illiterate and couldn’t explain a free market system if she had to. Just like the current bunch of conservatives, the folks who opposed FDR also believed that any government intervention was socialism. Well I suppose that social security which is a direct result of FDR’s New Deal programs is also socialism. Hey, Miss SAP, try taking them social security, SSI, and disability checks away from your equally retarded Tea Party folks and see what they tell you.

Well, Rush Limbaugh, I’m waiting to see just how long it takes for you to call Sarah Palin a “freakin’ retard.”
